Description
This hands-on throwing workshop will discuss, demonstrate, and practice a few of the infinite ways we can make lidded vessels, and interpret the concept of containment. Explore lid-making from both a practical and aesthetic point of view, with demonstrated tips and techniques, and problem-solving.

Lidded pots have been one of the most profoundly important inventions over the last 10,000 years. Human necessity, survival, and creativity led to the creation of a ceramic form with a lid. From then on the iterations have been infinite and spanned all cultures, and the lidded form infiltrates every household in the world. Storage of food and anything else you can think of makes its way into the volume defined by the maker.

Level: Intermediate Throwing

$240 1 day Workshop

Clay and firing included.
