Learn the basics to plan, design, make, and install handmade ceramic mosaics.
This introductory-level mosaic workshop will explore ceramic mosaic-making techniques and best practices for a variety of indoor and outdoor settings. Students will gain hands-on experience making sample mosaics, as well as exploring various tile-making techniques. The workshop will also discuss mosaic design, tools, and installation practices. Students can expect to finish a sample mosaic, design their own mosaic, and make tile elements for their mosaics.

Artist Bio
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Regina Farrell-Fagan graduated from GMIT in 1995 with a National Diploma in Art and Design, studying painting and printmaking. Soon after she began her teaching career and also worked as a freelance illustrator and designer. She moved to the United States in 2002, and won a work/study scholarship at the Art Students League of New York, in 2005, concentrating on clay sculpture. At Lehman College (CUNY) she earned a BA in Studio Art, majoring in ceramics. She was awarded the Women’s Forum Fellowship in 2010, and the Brohmer Twins Award in 2011, and began exhibiting and selling her handbuilt works. She has worked on mosaics for many years including large-scale mosaic projects at Clay Art Center.
