Summer Camp FAQs

What are camp classroom sizes?

  • The Main Classroom will have 12 campers max (plus instructor and assistant)

  • The Annex Classroom will have 10 campers max (plus instructor and assistant)

Who teaches our camps?

  • CAC Summer Camps are taught by a mix of professional resident and teaching artists. CAC requires all summer camp instructors and staff to pass a background check. CAC works closely with our teachers to develop fun, educational camps with the camper's age-level in mind.

What should campers wear to camp?

  • Kids get messy, so make sure your child wears appropriate clothing and footwear (sneakers are best; no open-toed shoes). Most clay and glaze materials will wash out of clothing, but a smock or apron might be appropriate for children who are worried about getting their clothes stained.

Do campers need to bring anything?

  • Supplies and other materials are provided by Clay Art Center. If your child has their own tool set, they are welcome to bring it! For wheel classes, kids must bring an old towel with them.

What about lunch?

  • Campers must bring their own food and beverage. Campers take a 10 minute snack break midway through each half day camp. Half-day campers must bring a snack and beverage. Full-day campers must bring lunch, 2 snacks, and a beverage.

  • Summer Camp at CAC is a peanut / nut-free program. Please do not provide any food items that contain peanuts, nuts, peanut butter, nut butters, or peanut products.

  • You will be asked to specify your camper’s dietary restrictions in the emergency contact form after registering.

Is extended care offered?

  • Early Bird Drop Off and Extended Pick Up are not available.

Is parking available?

  • There is free parking available in the middle of the municipal parking lot or on Beech Street while you wait to drop off or pick up your camper.
